Choice of cars and choice of characters can take some time for students / adults. There are issues with personal choice which interfere with the ability to drive as quick as possible. Some of the machines are less stable to drive and tip more easily causing less speed and more frustration. Tracks can be challenging however there are those which mimic more of everyday driving. There are obstacles which come up. Some challenges can be switched off. Its helpful to spend more time learning what each option can provide you with as a lesser and lesser distraction.
Slow speeds of 50 result in more time to think about where you are going. This is multi tasking driving where your hands are not always just on the steering wheel but you are given objects to hold in your hand whilst you drive and think about when to throw them. Whilst this is a childrens type of game for driving it is helpful to look at more advanced driving games with faster paced cars because of the amount of variables which are either not present or can be removed to make game play simpler. Choice of which track to use is far simpler than on other types of games with the terrain type instantly recognisable mostly. Barriers exist where you think that they would. Some times you can drive on the grass and other times it stops you immediately from heading up an embankment. Beware of frustration and think about purchasing multiple different types of driving programs for use.
Visual analysis of tracks is a challenge for those who are unfamiliar with the level of design features and colours used. This may be overwhelming completely and cause the game to be of no value in therapy sessions for some clients.
